1. PRODUCT CATEGORY - sorted by faux fur coat or jacket factory

 

Artificial fur products are mainly divided into four categories: imitation animal skin, sheared furs, long plush, and faux Sherpa furs.

 

1/ Imitation animal skin:

This kind of faux fur has bristles and fluffy undercoat, such as faux raccoon dog fur, faux fox fur, faux rabbit fur, and faux sable fur.

 

2/ Sheared furs:

solid color or jacquard furs with fur tips sheared

 

3/ Long plush:

furs longer than 20 mm

 

4/ Faux Sherpa Furs:

imitation lamb fur, also called faux Sherpa fleece. This kind of furs have a wide range of application. It can be used for casual jackets, coats, bonded with suede, PU. Because the furs are rolling balls, the loosing fibers are not as much as the other kind of furs. If the fabric is finished by the wash process, there will be nearly no loosing of fibers. And the hand feeling of the washed Sherpa fur will be very slippery and soft.

 

All kinds of faux fur fabrics can be bonded with PU, suede, or woolen fabrics in a faux fur bonding factory. The bonded fabrics can be used to make reversible jackets or coats, or let the fur as the facing side and the other as the backing side, or let the fur as the backing side and the other side as the facing. It will give designers lots of creative ideas.






2. TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS - in the faux fur factory

Faux fur fabrics are all knitted by Circular Knitting Machine, and the general steps are as follows:

 

1/ Technological Process for Long Plush

 

A. First, determine the product composition, process proportion and fiber proportion according to the appearance style of the sample

B. After the raw materials (fibers) are prepared, they are sent to the dyeing plant for dyeing at high temperature

C. After the raw materials are dyed, they are returned to the faux fur fabric factory for rolling, combing, and knitting.

D. After knitted, starch the back of the fabric and fix the fabric width. To improve the losing fibers, the full width is better to no more than 63 inches, especially for the long plush or high-weighted styles. The garment technique department needs to make the paper pattern and determine the best fabric cuttable width to make the most usage of fabric. If the fabric is going to be bonded, we must take into account in advance the shrinkage rate when compounding.

E. High temperature ironing and shearing after drying

F. Finally, inspection and repair, packaging and shipment

 

The above is based on solid faux fur fabrics or jacquard fur fabrics. If the faux fur fabrics are tip-dyed, tip-faded, or tip-dyed and faded, they need to send to the dyeing plant for dyeing. In this case, there will be additional processes for starching, ironing, and shearing.

 

2/ Technological Process for Faux Sherpa Furs

 

Its process is relatively simple compared with plush. The constituents of Faux Sherpa furs are generally polyester, acrylic, wool, or their blends.

 

First, knit on the circular knitting machine after processing the fiber. After knitted, sheared the tips of the furs, then starched, width fixed and shaped, and then rolled at high temperature. As the ball furs are usually less than 8mm, Sherpa fur fabrics can be made to a larger width than long plush fabrics. Generally, it takes 24-40 minutes, depending on the sample style. Except for the time, the composites and temperature will also determine the appearance of the ball fur.

Then, it is cooled, dried, and shaped.

Finally, inspection and packaging.






3. LEAD TIME - taken by the faux fur manufacturer

 

1/ The production lead time of Faux Sherpa fabrics is around 15 days.

2/ The production lead time of solid plush fabrics is 15 to 20 days.

3/  The production lead time of tip-dyed or tip-faded faux fur fabrics is 20 to 25 days.

4/ The production lead time of tip-dyed and faded faux fur fabrics is 25 to 35 days.

 

Except for the general production time, we also need to consider the conditions below:

 

1/ Are the raw materials in stock?


If not, we need to plus the time of raw materials purchasing time, especially materials ModAcrylic or Recycled. If the fabric sample and garment order are fixed, we can communicate with the faux fur jacket factory or faux fur coat factory in advance and ask them to confirm the material inventory with the faux fur fabric factory in advance. It will save a lot of time.

2/ Production schedule

For the factory, due to the cost pressure of equipment and labor, the order should be arranged compactly, and the production line should not be idle to wait for a specific order.

Therefore, our orders are scheduled by the fabric factory in order. After the production of the previous order is completed, they produce our order and then produce the next.

 

Because all processes are carried out synchronously if one order is placed and the previous order fails to pass the quality inspection. The previous order needs to be reworked or re-produced. So the fabric manufacturer has to decide whether to insert the improved order in front of the current order, or continue to produce the current order first and then rework the previous order.

 

It is usually depended on the apparel delivery date, that is, which order is more urgent.

3/ The delivery date should also consider the production season. If it's the peak production season, the delivery date needs to be longer.

 

The peak production season of faux fur fabrics is usually from April to October. The fabric delivery will be extended by 5 to 10 days. Due to the technical process, there are many kinds of furs whose delivery may extend to 45 days, such as jacquard furs, tip-dyed furs, and tip-faded furs.

 

Therefore, when placing an order, the experienced production coordinator of the faux fur garment manufacturer will communicate with the buyer to consider these factors and strive for a reasonable delivery date, so as not to compress the reasonable production process and result in delivery or quality problems.

 

Compared factory's promised delivery to the buyer at the beginning to the failure to meet the delivery date and impact the sales schedule, notifying the buyer about all these factors in advance is much better for buyers.   

 

4/ When the Chinese New Year is approaching in January or February, fabric factories or fabric dyeing factories will shut and have a holiday earlier than other kinds of factories and will open later after the New Year.

 

This is because the delivery date of apparel is mostly determined by the delivery of fabric. So it is very important for the fabric factory to ensure its delivery date, and fabric factories are always pushed by jacket or coat factory for delivery.

 

For this reason, the fabric factory has fewer holidays than other factories, especially in peak seasons. Therefore, during the very important holiday of China New Year, the fabric factory will give their labor an early beginning holiday and a later return date. The fabric factories are usually re-open after the Lantern Festival, which is a traditional holiday and is as important as New Year to the Chinese.






4. WHAT ELSE TO WATCH - by the faux fur coat or jacket factory

 

1/ Confirm the quality and process of the sample.

The style of faux fur fabric is mainly determined by the material-fiber ratio, weight, knitting process, and finishing methods.

 

The raw materials used in the production are one of the important factors that determine the quality of faux fur fabrics.

Generally, products with a high proportion of high-grade raw materials will have a significant increase in color, smoothness, and resilience, and of course, the price will also increase accordingly.

 

The size of the fabric production plant, the positioning of product quality, the level and experience of engineers, the emphasis on quality, and the level of supporting plants of the supply chains (such as dyeing plants) will have an impact on the quality of faux fur fabrics.

 

It is a professional job to determine the quality, raw material composition, and manufacturing process of faux fur products. Therefore, it is better to send the samples to a professional faux fur coat or faux fur jacket factory.

 

Communicating with suppliers is very important. Accurately transfer the test requirements and characteristics of required products, especially for the products directly affected by the quality of raw materials, such as the style, length, color, feel, and rebound. Select suitable suppliers, and improve sample approval rate and work efficiency.

 

Instead of choosing a supply offering very lower prices that eventually lead to poor raw materials, potential quality problems, and risks, it's wiser to look for professional suppliers with good reputations and high-quality product positions.

 

2/ The price and production delivery date shall be checked and quoted by professional faux fur suppliers to avoid mistakes and problems.

 

 

After the supplier quotes, confirm the acceptable price and quality based on the quantity, technique, and faux fur clothing cost. Then check the accurate quantity and place the order.  

 

Professional faux fur clothing suppliers have specific staff in the fabric department, technology department, and cutting department to do this work.

 

The production of faux fur has specific and objective production cycle, which may be pretty complex.

 

Therefore, we should try our best to understand relevant knowledge and accumulate experience, so as to fully communicate with the faux fur manufacturer and obtain a reasonable delivery date.

 

Follow up at the key process point of the faux fur production to ensure safe delivery.

 

After the order is placed, the production coordinator should communicate with the factory on the third or fourth days to learn about the progress in terms of raw material organization and fiber dyeing. And check whether there are any important matters left out.


In the half of the delivery or in the second week, communicate with the supplier again to learn about the knitting/weaving progress, dyeing, or fading progress.

 

Since these works involve the partner plants, they also determine whether the processes are going smoothly or not and whether the orders can be delivered on time.

 

 

Finally, one or two days before the delivery date, contact the factory to confirm the effection of ironing and shaping。

 

Before the bulk is all completed, the faux fur supplier will send a pre-production sample for approval.

Check with the confirmed sample immediately after getting it. Communicate and get to know the bulk conditions the first time. If there are problems, contact the supplier and solve the problems on time.

 

After the bulk production is completed, communicate with the supplier and get to know the preparation for shipment and supervise the supplier to deliver bulk in the right quality and on time.

 

If an order is placed directly to a professional faux fur clothing vendor,  they will actively inform buyers of the current progress at each point.

 

If there are problems, they will also propose professional solutions. Buyers only need to remind the corresponding attention points and approve the samples or solutions.





5. TEST - a faux fur coat or jacket factory will process

 

If there are test requirements, the most important thing is to communicate and make them clear to the supplier before placing an order.

 

Because some requirements will involve price changes or some specific faux fur fabrics can't meet the requirements. These requirements shall be confirmed again when the order is placed with the faux fur clothing manufacturers.

 

When arranging the fabric, the faux fur jacket factory or faux fur coat factory will clearly note all the requirements, and the engineers of faux fur fabrics will make the corresponding configuration according to the requirements.

 

 

Environmental-friendly requirements for chemicals.

 

Because the use of chemical additives will be involved in raw fiber, dyeing, starching, fading, and other processes, products with high environmental-friendly should be produced by professional experienced suppliers with a good reputation.

 

There will be a pre-production sample before mass production's completed. Send the sample to a professional testing lab, such as Intertek.

 

Fabrics that failed the test must not be used in the clothing.

 

Shrinkage and color fastness

The general requirement is level 3 or higher.

 

As to the color, it is not easy to reach Grade 4 or above for those with particularly dark or bright colors. The faux fur factory will suggest using better raw materials to meet the requirements.





6. Inspection - by the faux fur fabric, faux fur jacket, or coat factory

1/ Color difference.

Faux fur fabrics need to be dyed in the production process. The process stability, ratio, sizing, yarn dyed and density of the dyeing plant will affect the color difference.

 

After receiving the shipping sample, carefully check and inspect it with the standard sample.

When there is a problem, coordinate with the supplier to improve it to ensure the safety of the bulk.

 

For the color difference, a few cases can be improved by returning to the dyeing plant for color improvement.

 

However, in most cases, color adjustment can only result in a little improvement, especially if the tone of the base color has deviation. It is difficult to meet the color of the standard sample by improvement.

 

In this case, it is necessary to communicate with the buyer and the brand manager and other groups for their opinions.

 

If it is really unacceptable, ask the factory to make production again. Meanwhile, communicate with the buyer team and the factory about the extension of clothing delivery.

 

2/ Hand feeling

If the furs lack resilience, check whether the composition and proportion are correct.

 

If suppliers reduce the proportion of acrylic fiber in order to reduce costs, it will often lead to a poor rebound of artificial fur and rough hand feeling.

 

It should be noted that there will be obvious differences in a rebound between samples and bulk goods due to different packaging methods, transportation methods, and sealing methods.

 

The right way is to remove the packaging of bulk fabrics, hold a corner of the fur with both hands and gently shake to restore fluffy, and then compare.

 

This is also a good way to recover the rebound of the fabric on the faux fur clothing sample.

 

After receiving faux fur coat or jacket samples, hold on the bottom hem and shake it down several times, then hang it on a hanger and loosely hang it to restore the appearance of the furs.

 

4/ Fibre losing

 

So far, there is no clear inspection standard for fibre loss rate, and the judgment is mainly based on sealed samples.

 

When receiving bulk goods or bulk samples, unpack the goods first, restore the fluffy fur under normal conditions, and then gently grasp the fur surface with your hand to judge how much fibers are caught (falling off the fur) in your hand and whether it is similar to the sealed sample.

 

It should be noted that when the bulk goods are just produced, there will be floating hairs on the surface, which can be removed by shaking. In addition, the fibre loss of the sample will be greatly improved due to multiple tests, which should be considered when judging the fibre loss rate.

 

If it is not an obvious process error, most of the fibre shedding problems can be improved through the later process of carding. If the fibre loss is beyond the acceptable range, return the bulk goods to the factory for sorting and repair.

 

5/ Stains and holes

 

As long as look carefully, stains and holes can be found.

 

In addition to the faux fur fabric factory's inspection, the fabric inspector and cutter of a professional faux fur clothing manufacturer will also inspect the fabric before cutting.
